Following step 4 of the government's roadmap out of lockdown, here is what you need to know about the current guidelines home movers should follow to keep themselves and others safe.

It is important to remember that the pandemic is not over, and the COVID-19 virus is still spreading, so we cannot return to normal just yet.

Whilst the legal restrictions on close contact and face coverings are no longer in place, the government is still urging caution.  Therefore, the Property Hive team members will continue wearing face coverings and keeping socially distant where possible.

Valuing your home

The Property Hive can provide safe market appraisals for homeowners looking to sell either in person or remotely.    Our colleagues will be wearing protective equipment, including face coverings, when coming in to contact the public, and we would advise homeowners to wear face coverings whilst our team members are in your home.

When visiting your home, our professional photographer will be wearing face coverings while taking pictures and compiling an interactive virtual 3D online viewing.  We would advise homeowners to wear face coverings too whilst our team members are in your home.

With so many people having to isolate our 3D Virtual Viewing tool is an incredible asset allowing people to see homes remotely, just like they are there.

Viewing properties

In the first instance, would encourage people to use The Property Hive’s interactive 3D online viewing feature, which enables buyers to view a homes remotely and see a three-dimensional model of the property, zoom inwalk around, measure up and interact with the property just like they are actually thereYou can also see floor plans, pictures and more remotely on our website from the comfort of your sofa.

We can only arrange for physical viewings for those who are able to proceed with a purchase to minimise unnecessary contacts.  If any member of either the household being viewed or the household undertaking a viewing is showing symptoms of coronavirus or is self-isolating, then a physical viewing should not be conducted. All viewings should take place by appointment and only involve members of a single household.  The number of people viewing a property should be restricted to two, and no children should accompany parents on a viewing.  Viewing appointments will be restricted to 15 minutes.

Our colleagues will be wearing face coverings when coming in to contact the public, and we would advise homeowners and those viewing to wear face coverings too.

Legal conveyancing

Due to the backlogs caused by the previous lockdowns and the impacts of self isolations, many legal firms are reporting longer than usual transactions times.  Home movers should bear this in mind when making their plans.

Surveyors & Tradesmen

Tradespeople can continue to work in other people’s homes unless customers or tradespeople are self-isolating.

Members of the public should ensure their homes are clean and safe before tradespeople enter.

Moving

Removal firms can operate as normal, although they may need to adjust usual procedures to ensure moves happen as safely as possible.  This may involve cleaning items being carried by removals firms, wiping surfaces such as worktops and door handles, ensuring rooms are well ventilated and seeking to delay work if either party is showing COVID-19 symptoms.
